With extra and new staff at Christmas, who may have new induction cards you need to make sure that you and staff have entered new Induction Cards details in the Woolworths Vistrak app. Sign in and out Woolworths Vistrak & ITM Geofencing, use Count & Collect correctly, and understand the risks of the job and are closely supervised by you.

Wet trolleys and wet floors can lead to lots of slips and falls. Your site must have an effective written “Wet Weather Plan”

Important Notice for Student Visa Holders

From 1 July 2023, work restrictions for student visa holders will be re-introduced and capped at the increased rate of 48 hours per fortnight (24 hours per week).

The previous student visa work restrictions of 40 hours per fortnight were relaxed throughout the pandemic, and temporarily removed in January 2022. This temporary arrangement will end on 30 June 2023

Even though there is flexibility in the number of hours they can work, students must still:

maintain their course enrolment

ensure satisfactory course attendance

ensure satisfactory course progress

Student visa holders who cancel their enrolment and stop attending classes, or fail to meet satisfactory course progress, may be in breach of their visa conditions

Employers must continue to follow Australian workplace law. Overseas workers, including international students, have the same rights under Australian workplace law as all other employees.

Employers with student visa holders are encouraged to make arrangements to prepare to reduce work hours to the capped level or explore other possible visa options to maintain more work hours.

Important Note regarding Count & Collect

With changes to the NSW Impounding Act being in effect from 1 November, Woolworths will be placing an extra focus on Count & Collect usage.

Please ensure that scheduled street runs are recorded correctly in the Count & Collect app

... especially if you are in NSW!

Remember to make sure your street runs are:

Completed on the day it is scheduled
Of a sufficient length:

at least 60 minutes for each scheduled street run (for Street Run Only sites)

at least 30 - 60 minutes (depending on site commitments) for each scheduled street run (for Full Service sites)

Covers a sufficient area around your site

Please Note...

A trolley collector recently neglected safety practices, and incurred his boss more than $3000 cost of repairs to a vehicle that he hit while pushing over 20 trolleys without a rope!

The trolley collector must not push more than the authorized MAXIMUM OF 12 STRAPPED TROLLEYS.

The rules on the number of trolleys to be moved are clearly set out in the ITM subby and employee training (in WH&S Manual), the Woolworths Induction Program, and in your Work Method Statement (this has been repeatedly mentioned to every collector).

It is very important for collectors to always check their surroundings before proceeding. Be extra vigilant when pushing trolleys in car parks and inside centres.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO ADD TROLLEYS TO THE 12 TROLLEYS YOU ARE CURRENTLY PUSHING.
NO excuse for more than 12!
